Sunday Snapshot: Jamaica

Welcome to this week’s edition of Sunday Snapshot. This week I’m highlighting a country that I visited briefly, and did not explore nearly enough, Jamaica.

When I visited Jamaica I was working as a travel consultant for Flight Centre, and in need of a few days away to relax. It was during this short trip that I realised the value of all-inclusive vacations. For months I had been working hard and trying to move forward from the death of my Dad. I was worn out and needed a no fuss escape. When the opportunity came along to visit the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall Adults Only – All Inclusive with work, I jumped at the chance. For three days I wandered along the beach, soaked in the pool, and gorged myself on jerk chicken.

I admit, it was cheating, I didn’t really experience Jamaica, I was too busy playing in the pool or the ocean, but sometimes a resort vacation is needed, sometimes it’s nice to get away from the chaos of exploring a new country. I don’t stay in resorts very often, but this was definitely a good one.

Next time I go to Jamaica, I’ll explore, but for now, I will look at my photos of the beach of my three days of blessed relaxation.
